Comments on: HP will not be adding windows 7 drivers to their pavilion Dv9000 series

I Am an I.T engineer and this particular series of Hp machines along with dv6000 and dv2000 all suffer from a inherent fault with their motherboards! Over time the gpu fails due to inadequate cooling and lead free solder, also the wireless fails due to an incompatibility with the broadcom US cards and the EU boards! I have seen thousands of these machines all with the same fault! In my opinion the entire series should have been recalled!

This is why in my opinion they do not support windows 7 drivers, They are forcing you to buy a new machine, they are cutting there losses it seems like! Best advice if you have one of these machines, sell it while it works and get yourself a Sony or a Mac!

That is not on. I did purchase HP brand (DV9000) not only on specification but mainly on strong image of the brand and the support I was expecting to get.

I am very disappointed that HP just dropped support for windows 7 for the DV9000 series leaving users in the bad cold.

I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER HP PRODUCT AGAIN!!!

~RAM question~

Hey guys, I have a DV9008TX and I hate Vista. I want to upgrade to 64bit Win7 to improve performance.

Does anyone know if after I upgrade the OS from 32bit to 64bit, can then install more than the max 4gb (3gb actual) RAM? Or is there a hardware/motherboard/bios limitation of the DV9000 series?

I want to bump it up to 8gb so I don’t have to upgrade my Laptop for another year or so.

I had windows vista. the dv9000 kept crashing and having fatal errors because of the bad vista os. I installed windows xp professional and couldn’t get any drivers. not even internet. Just took it to microcenter to have them upgrade it to windows 7. they are going to find all the drivers and do the upgrade for $60. I hope it works. HP has a nasty, rotten attitude toward us, their customers. They will only let you restore vista, which was never made to work with only one gig of ram preinstalled and enough junk to fill it before vista could even start.

F.U. hp if this is the attitude you have toward us all.

I have the HP Pavilion dv9000 with Win 7 32 bit installed and the graphics and sound are both flawless. I did a clean install and also found a dead cool website to install Microsoft Office for students and teachers for really cheap at:

I hope it is not psychosomatic, but really impressed with this recent version of Windows.

I am upset with HP as well for not providing support for Win7 on a Vista machine. Yes, most of the drivers work fine, but there are a few like the finger print reader that is not working or the Remote Control. This is the 2nd time that I have seen HP lack of support for a computer that is not that old to upgrade the OS. Their thinking seems to be that they want you to buy another computer from them. With all the other problems that I have had with my computer I’ll not buy another from HP.

I have a DV9201TX, how come HP did this to the people who brought the Expensive Laptop from Him . Other series support window 7 but Dv9000 not support, what they thinking.
