UPDATE: just install the vista drives and it should work, and in case any of the drivers don’t work go to that 3rd partys site and try downloading the drivers directly from the company how made the hardware. I had to do this for the 64bit driver for the finger reader.

I’m outraged by HP’s decision to not support windows7 drivers on the pavilion Dv9000 series. There is no viable excuse in my opinion why HP can not/should not add drivers for a laptop that had vista pre installed on it and was listed on their front page just over a year ago.

I hope that HP corrects this very soon. I can only imagine that there was many sales of that laptop last year alone. That will be a lot of upset laptop owners who just over a year ago paid around $1500 for their top of the line laptop, but now can not upgrade their “forced upon” vista OS to the new windows 7 that is superior to vista in many ways.

How can a series of laptops with a top of the line cpu and video cards not be eligible as stated here http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01892673&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3650971, yet lower end laptops like the Dv2 series is getting supported?

I will be voicing my opinion about this issue else were in hopes to gather more support and create more complaints to HP for their incompetents in supporting one of their newest laptops.

I was told by HP support that I should not upgrade and to continue to use vista only for this laptop.

outraged!
